Roadmap
Why Leg Up?
I.
According to the NCAA, 32% of college athletes find that their student-athlete experience does not resemble what coaches told them to expect.
II.
An even larger pool aspires to play college sports but lacks a true understanding of how their dream school's coach recruits and fails to get offers.
III.
Each coach attends certain camps and looks for particular qualities. Players who happen to meet those get signed.
IV.
Even those who get signed often find themselves in student-athlete communities that don't meet their academic interests and potential.
Mentorship → Recruitment → Prosperity
Why we care
We founded Leg Up after watching our skilled high-school teammates reach out to schools but fail to drum up interest. They either hung up their cleats or accepted an offer from a from a school that didn't match their academic or athletic potential.
One of our friends Blake's dad worked in youth sports and connected Blake to many slightly older players to coach and encourage him. Blake's deep understanding of how to earn one's spot at the next level and his insider knowledge of programs' present upsides and risks earned him elite offers.
We've created Leg Up because college sports are a gift—improving career and wellness outcomes—and we want to share Blake's opportunity.
